A Drip Irrigation system is a highly efficient micro-irrigation method that saves water and fertilizer by allowing water to drip slowly to the roots of plants, either from above the soil surface or buried below it. It minimizes evaporation and runoff by targeting the precise root zone.

Components of a Drip System

A standard setup uses a network of valves, pipes, tubing, and emitters to deliver water:Water Source: Connects to a standard outdoor faucet or pump.

Head Assembly: Includes a backflow preventer (to keep water safe), a filter (to prevent emitter clogging), and a pressure regulator (to ensure even dripping).

Mainline Tubing: Usually 1/2 or 3/4 inch polyethylene pipe that carries water from the source to the designated growing areas.

Micro-tubing & Emitters: Smaller 1/4 inch tubes ("spaghetti lines") that run from the mainline directly to the base of individual plants, ending in a slow-drip emitter.
